MBBS, FRANZCO, FRACSDr Douglas Reinehr was born in Bairnsdale, Victoria, is married and has two adult daughters and one son. He is a graduate of the University of Melbourne Medical School.He completed his fellowship in ophthalmolgy at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in 1982, followed by further experience in Hamburg and as Clinical assistant in the Vitreo-Retinal unit at Moorfields Hospital. London.Throughout his career, Doug’s main consulting practice has been at Cabrini Hospital, Malvern, where his special interest has been Cataract and Glaucoma Medical, Laser and Surgical management. He was also amongst the first group of Melbourne surgeons to introduce Excimer Laser Refractive surgery in 1991.
Doug is a fellow of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists, as well as a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.His outside interests include golf, skiing and playing Bridge.
Doug now confines his practice to comprehensive ophthalmology, including Glaucoma, Retina and Neuro-Ophthalmology.
