Dr Damien Louis is a fellowship trained Ophthalmologist specialising in the treatment of diseases of the retina, including Macular Degeneration, Diabetic Retinopathy and Retinal Vein occlusion.

Damien completed her university degree in South Australia at Flinders University and then spent two years working at Kura Yerlo, the Aboriginal Health Centre in Adelaide. She started her Ophthalmology training at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear hospital (RVEEH).

She was the senior registrar for the Department of Ophthalmology at the Royal Adelaide hospital in 2000 before traveling to Oxford, England to complete a fellowship in Medical Retina.

Damien is a member of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists and the Australian & New Zealand Society of Retinal Specialists.

Damien is actively involved in projects aiming to improve the eye health of Indigenous Australians living in remote communities. Damien also continues to assist with research into the management of retinal conditions such as Age-Related Macular Degeneration.
