About Dr Walter Chang

Dr Walter Chang is a comprehensive general ophthalmologist who has practiced in Sydney and Melbourne.  His interests are cataract surgery, glaucoma and paediatrics.

Walter was born in Melbourne and educated at Scotch College. He graduated MBBS and B.Med.Sci from the University of Melbourne in 1989.

He completed a Masters of Surgery degree entitled ‘The management of cataract surgery in Australia’ in 1997 with Professor Hugh Taylor. He undertook his Ophthalmology training at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. He then spent a fellowship year at Changi General Hospital in Singapore, gaining experience operating on Asian eyes, before obtaining his fellowship of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists in 2001.

He is married with two children.  He is an accomplished classical pianist (L.Mus.A) and enjoys cycling to keep healthy.
