Dr Weng Ng is an ophthalmic surgeon with a special interest in cataract surgery and glaucoma management. He has expertise in MIGS procedures including XEN gel stents and i-stents. He also manages most adult ophthalmic conditions, including macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.

Weng graduated in 1999 from the University of Melbourne with an honours degree.

During his undergraduate training, he won the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists’ prize for Ophthalmology, Keith Levi Memorial Scholarship for Medicine and RD Wright prize for Physiology. He completed a Master of Public Health degree from James Cook University prior to commencing his ophthalmology training.

He performed general ophthalmology training at Sydney Eye Hospital and Prince of Wales Hospital, which was followed by a fellowship year at Royal Perth Hospital, where he performed advanced cataract surgery, glaucoma, and anterior segment surgery. Weng has also been a CASA examiner for pilot’s eye examination since 2010.

He speaks fluent Mandarin and Cantonese.
